SSA is excited to offer swim lessons at Body Renew at the Delco Plaza. Body Renew is one of Winchester's family center for health and fitness activities. Body Renew Fitness is a state of the art fitness facility serving the Northern Shenandoah Valley area. Delco is home to our indoor saltwater pool as well as the state of the art personal training facility.
Body Renew is one of our only year-round facilities. Classes will be offered to the public. Non-gym members are allowed to enroll for classes, however they must vacate the pool immediately following the lesson.

is is for children ages 0-36 months. One adult (over 18 years of age) must be in the water with the child. Helps develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around the water.
This level is geared to building confidence in the water. Focus will be on blowing bubbles, floating and kicking on the front and back with support, learning breath control, and swimming with face in the water and an introduction to various arm/leg actions. This level is for children who don't go under water willingly or who have some fears of the water.
Participants learn supported float on front and back, recovery to a vertical position from floating, front and back glides, and swimming on front and back using a combined stroke for 5 yards. This level is for those children who will go under water willingly, but may not be comfortable when they are in water over thier head.
Fundamental Aquatic Skills- This level helps participants learn unsupported float on front and back, recovery to a vertical position from floating, front and back glides and swimming on front and back using combined stroke for 5 yards. This level is for children who may be doggie paddling but can't do basic float or for children who are very comfortable in the water but don't know the basic stroke movements.
Stroke Development- This level adds kicks to front and back glides, teaches changing directions and body positions in deep water, diving from the side of the pool in a kneeling position, swim on front and back for 15 yards with more refined stokes, treading water for 30 seconds, and an introduction to the butterfly kick. NOTE: Your child should be able to float independently on front and back and swim 5 body lengths using a combined arm/leg action.
